He is survived by: his wife Claudia G. Knittle; his brothers, Daniel Knittle and Joseph Knittle; and his children, Pamela Wilmoth, Timothy Knittle and Frederick Knittle. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
