He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Johnson and Emily Johnson; and his son Dustin. He is survived by: his wife Lynette; his children, Donna Riley (Wade), Kathryn Blaylock (William) and Timothy Johnson (Kris); his grandchildren, Megyn, Payton, Chelsi, Nina, Scott, Greg, Christian, Jesse and Kati; his brother William E. Johnson (Dee) of Minnesota; his siblings-in-law, Blanche Johnson of Ohio, Phyllis Johnson of Olympia and Ron Davison of Snohomish; his nieces, Rhonda and Debbie; and his nephew Greg. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
