We bid farewell to Gary Sherman Shannon in Olympia, Washington, born in Kansas City, Missouri, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 6, 2024 at the age of 91. Gary touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the vast expanse of eternity, Gary shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Gary farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gail Shannon and Mabel Shannon; and his spouse Chun Kim. He is survived by: his siblings, Deanna (Larry Sextro) of Horton, Kansas and Raymond of Iola, Kansas; and his children, Sonja Moon of Austin, Texas, Don (Celeste) of Tucson, James (Amy) of Federal Way, Brian (Rhonda) of Olympia and Gary (Rachel) of Olympia. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and nine nieces/nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews in Gary's honor.
