He was predeceased by: his father Bob Backstrom. He is survived by: his mother Betty Backstrom; his children, Erik (Christie), Leif (Daryle) and Heidi (David Crawford); his wife Laurel Andvik; his grandchildren, Dylan, Klara, Logan, Greta and Olle; his siblings, Lori (Craig) and Mark (Susan); and his siblings-in-law, Tove (Doug) and Brian (Laura). He is also survived by two aunts, and many nieces and nephews.
