He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Oscar P. Wendling and Mary V. Wendling (Bedore); his grandparents, Joseph and Rosalee Bedore; his wife Mary Frances Wendling (Nevitt); his sons, Phillip, Jr. (Francie) of Goddard, KS, Scott (Tammy) of Wichita, KS, Kyle (Joy) of Oak Harbor, WA and David (Tracy) of Lynnwood, WA; and his brothers, Larry of Topeka, KS and Terry (Kristi) of Spring Hill, TN.. He was also cherished by married at a young age and had 2 sons and a daughter.

For many years, he battled with Alzheimer's Disease.
