He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell Hines and Patricia Hines. He is survived by: his wife Jean Hines; his children, Michael Hines (Carrie) of Chanhassen, MN and Ansley Hidalgo (Javier) of Newnan, GA; his grandchildren, Sebastian Hidalgo, Patrick Hines, Makenzie Hines and Savannah Hines; and his siblings, Linda Marshall (Greg), Don Hines (Sylvia) and Sue Hines Beaudu.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Jim's name to St. Anthony's Parish of Newport, WA.
