He was predeceased by: his wife Elda; his sons, Ernest Jr and Vernon; his parents, Raymond and Bessie; and his siblings, Raymond Henry Jr., Lawrence Delbert, Donald Eugene, Vernon Leroy, John Henry, Leonard Dean and Margaret Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Virgi; his children, Geoff, Kelly, Kevin, Ain and Abmel; his children-in-law, Andrea, Diana and Philip Fitzpatrick; his grandchildren, John Wise, Marie McCausland, Kelly David McCausland, Michael Apuya Mercado, Matthew Apuya Mercado, James Apuya Peper, Vincient Fitzpatrick, Cierra Fitzpatrick and Dakota Fitzpatrick; and his sister Kathleen Doris Trader. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
