Marcus James Edwards Obituary

Oct. 20, 1970 - Oct. 24, 2018 Marcus James Edwards passed away peacefully and pain-free surrounded by family on October 24, 2018, four days after his 48th birthday, following a courageous 15-month battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme brain cancer. Marcus was born in Seattle, WA to Georgia Riley (Vogel) and James Edwards on October 20, 1970.

Marcus grew up in Everett/Marysville, WA area and graduated from Marysville Pilchuck High School in 1989. He served in the US Marine Corp at the height of "Desert Storm". Marcus worked at various jobs following his military career including helping to establish one of the first legal marijuana growing companies in the state of Washington.

Marcus loved to read, listen to music and spend time with family. He met the love of his life, Jessee Skittrall, 15 years ago. They were married April 9, 2010 and he helped to raise Collin, Celina and Noah Skittrall. Family was always important to Marcus, from babies to grandparents, he was instrumental in making sure they stayed connected by arranging activities such as family potluck/hair days and winter bus trips to Leavenworth, WA.

Sports were also an important part of Marc's life, from trading and selling baseball cards to umpiring baseball games to working at the Kingdome, Centurylink and Safeco Fields. He was an avid supporter of the Mariners and the Seahawks and loved attending the home games. Besides his husband and children, Marcus leaves behind a large extended family including two sets of parents and four siblings, and a multitude of caring relatives and friends.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be held November 18, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at Bethel Chapel Mountlake Terrace. 23010 66th Ave W, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043.
