He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete H. Stuurmans and Laura Renee Stuurmans (Hoekema); his brother Rodney Keith; and his nephew Vaughn Hoekert. He is survived by: his son Brandon Stuurmans of Ventura, CA; his brother Harry; his sister-in-law Bertha H. Stuurmans of Bellingham, WA; his sister Sally Renee; his brother-in-law Lloyd Hoekert of Portland, OR; and his nieces, Shauna (John Westra) and Melissa Hoekert of Portland, OR..
