He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Strickland and Maggie Edmondson; his grandparents, Napoleon and Sarah Edmondson; his great-grandparents, Doc and Maggie Evans; his aunt Ledria Paynes; his grandparents, B. G. and Grace Strickland; and his mother-in-law Annie Bell "Ma Bell" Talley.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Edmondson; his daughter Shareece Edmondson; his grandchild Kamilah; his son Sylvester Edmondson Jr. (Ashley); his grandchildren, Isla and Khalil; his brother Jeffery Edmondson; and his aunt Florence Person.
