He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Chaplain Karl A. Ufer and Phyllis Ufer (Anderson); his wife Valerie Ufer (Balch); his daughter Kristina Ngai (Jeffrey Ngai); his grandchildren, Allison and Andrew Ngai; his sister Sharon Lavell (Paul Lavell); and also John Robert Gordon (Trish Stuhan).
He was adamant about social distancing, vaccination and not putting lives at risk during the current Covid pandemic.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you consider a donation to Steve's favorite charities: Food for the Poor and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service or another charity of your choice.
