He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Theo Haws and Norma Haws; his close friend Cathy; his children, Julienne Andersen, Trevor (Carly), Rachel (Casey), Dallas and Tucker (Brad); his sisters, Deanne Haws, GayLynn Turner (Steve) and Dena Howard (Dave); and his grandchildren, Ezekiel, George and Gracie.
He also worked for the Boeing Outreach Program, which is a community charity working with disabled scouts on eagle projects.
