He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Buckenmeyer and Orabelle Buckenmeyer; his brother Robert (Bob); and his former wife Marilyn Pomeroy. He is survived by: his siblings, James Ray (Donald), Phyllis and Peggy; his children, Fred (Darcy), Dianna (Bob), Camille and Karen; his stepsons, Gary (Darlene) and Larry; and his grandchildren, Nicole Fisher (Gene), Jacob Buckenmeyer Sarah (Adorae), Robert Gay (Heather), Sam Gay (Sarah), Janna Gay (John), Justin Burner, Carissa Shaffer (Brandon), Molly Ashcroft (Weston), Cory Kehoe, Jessica Kehoe (Michael), Dean Varang, Fred Varang (Toni), Lacey Delange (Marty) and Christina Whitney (Brodie).

A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
