He was predeceased by: his parents, Eligah Bell and Callie Bell; his wife Claudia Bell; his former wife Ellie Rayburn; his daughters, Wanda Maxson and Peggy Pipkin; and his son-in-law Randy Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Loy D. Bell (Kim Bell), Donnie Bell and Carla Davis; and his sons-in-law, Pete Maxson and Darold Pipkin.
