He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his daughters, Barbara Becken (Steve) and Jacki McCormick (Bruce); and his brothers, Martin Ames and Dean Ames. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
