He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nichols and Eddie May Nichols; and his siblings, Wilma, Myrtle, Wanda June, Walter, Donald and Fred.
He is survived by: his former wife Shirley Mann (Olsen); his wife Diane Iblings; his sister Mildred (Johnson); his children, Scott Nichols (Amy) and Sheryl Benedict; his grandchildren, Matthew Benedict, Megan Benedict and Melissa Benedict; and his stepsons, Dan Iblings (Mary), Randy Iblings, Jay Iblings (Lisa) and Steve Iblings (Stefanie). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
