He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Vekved and Janny Vekved; his brother Ivan Vekved; his son Steve Vekved; his granddaughter Rachel Vekved; his wife Carolyn Vekved; his sister June Vekved; his son Dan Vekved (Michel); his grandchildren, Nathan and Aspen; his son Tim Vekved (Nancy); his granddaughter Annie; his daughter-in-law Michelle Vekved; his daughter Kristin Engen (Eivind); his grandchildren, Thora, Leif-Einar and Thea; his son Jerry Vekved (Sherie); and his grandchildren, Hugo, Ivan and Signe. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
