He is survived by: his mother Nelia Rupke (Houg); his son Ricky Jr. Rick; his former wife Gladys Smit; his stepsons, Tim Abercrombie and Darin Abercrombie; and his sisters, Shelly Vande Garde (Vern), Rhonda Bresnan (Frank) and Roslin Reinke (Brad). He is also survived by one niece and two nephews.
