He was predeceased by: his parents, Lubbertus "Henry" TeVelde and Gertrude TeVelde (Vos); his siblings, Albert, Conrad "Con", Herman "Herm", Berendina "Bernie" Ras, Elaine Grumbles and Johanna "Joey" Hoogeterp; and his son Duane.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Ver Steeg; his children, Chuck (Debbie) of Wenatchee, WA, Gary (Deanna) of Lynden, Dale (Lori) of Lynden, Brian (Jennifer) of Lynden and Darlene (Jason) of Everson; his daughter-in-law Ann of Umatilla, OR.; his sisters, Bertha Smit of Ferndale and Gertrude Bothof of Wisconsin; and his siblings-in-law, Carol TeVelde, Nell TeVelde, Gloria Patter (Arvin), Curt VerSteeg (Harriet), Bev Veltkamp (Ken) and Kathleen "Leen" Brower. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
