We bid farewell to Betty Douma (Lynden, Washington), born in Redlands, California, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 11, 2024 at the age of 85. Betty touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelvin Kooiman and Christine Kooiman; her husband Herman Douma; and her brother James Kooiman. She is survived by: her children, Mike, Elva Douma of Custer, WA, Melanie, Dave Burgess of Kihei, HI, Nancy and Daniel Andeel of Placentia, CA; her grandchildren, Natalie, Jeb Miller, Natasha, Dustin Wilson, Mikaela, David Van Wingerden, Amanda Attema, Maxwell Andeel and Jaxton Andeel; her great grandchildren, Charlotte, Everett, Vivian Miller, Aria Wilson, Kinsley, Klint, Beverly and Laynie Van Wingerden; and her siblings, Everett Kooiman, Roger Kooiman and Norma De Does. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Monumenta Cemetery (1980 Front St, Lynden, WA 98264). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Betty's Home.
