He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Malcolm Bradford Gardiner and Marguerite Ann Gardiner (Bock); his children, William Gardiner of Shelton, Washington, Patti Mize (Russ) of Rainier, Susan Gardiner of Tumwater and Cynthia Gardiner of Olympia, Washington; and his sisters, Joan Havercroft of Medina, Nancy Gilmore of Ukiah and Terry Gibson of Snohomish. He was also cherished by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
