He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Mattson and Fay Mattson; his sister Radina Howard; his niece Cheryl Musson; and his nephew Paul Karkiainen.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Mattson; his daughters, Nancy Plampin, Sarah Mattson and Kristen Mendez (Barbara Brandhorst); his grandchildren, LaSheila Rotchford, Anna Plampin, Nicholas Nietfield, Levi Nietfield, Matthew Mendez (Julianna), Grace Mendez, Samuel Mendez, Dakota Brandhorst, Chase Brandhorst and Emma Brandhorst; his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Evelyn, Sawyer, Oliver and Zayden; and his sons-in-law, Tom Plampin and Joe Mendez.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Salvation Army.
