He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Julius and Mabel Lolla Spjut; and his former wife Judy. He is survived by: his wife Debi (Campbell); his children, Dana Clayton (Brian), Brian Barnd-Spjut (Nichole), Darren Spjut, Derek Spjut and Kalama (family: Chris, Kacy Payne); his grandchildren, Ethan Payne (Olivia) and Steele Payne; his children, Kabel Payne, Braylex Payne and Dan; and his in-laws, Ben and Hazel Campbell.
In 2005 he volunteered his time serving on the Foundation Committee for CHHH.
