He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Chan and Ruth Chan (Dols); his significant other Donna; and his close friend Darryl Seybert. He is survived by: his son Chris Chan (Bev); and his grandchildren, Laura, Drew Chan (Kathleen), Tasha Johnson (John), Ava and Caia Johnson.
