She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, LeaRae Eckersley and Roy Eckersley; her siblings, Maureen, Mary, Kathleen, Helen and Mike; her children, Morgan, Erica and Jackson; and her pet Drake. She was also cherished by her five siblings.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Michele's memory, the family requests that memorial gifts be designated to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center for Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
