With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melanie Horton in Lakewood, Washington, who passed away on January 8, 2021 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Merriweather and Geraldine Merriweather; her son William Thomas Horton III; her grandson Dakota Lomatowoma; her mother-in-law Lottie Gilliam; and her siblings, Jerrie Holland, Norman Griffie and Nancy Kinnard.
She is survived by: her husband William Horton Jr.; her daughters, Brianne Ballard and Brittany Slaughter (Preston); her grandchildren, Issiah, Raianna, Kiias Horton, Preston Jr., Brianne Slaughter, Arica, Olivia and Marshaun Wiley; her siblings, Martha Tate-Glass, Ray Thompson, Randy Merriweather, Melissa Merriweather and Michelle Harper; and her close friend Wanda Fraser (Patrick).
