“As the senior-most NCO, a Command Sergeant Major, he was my wingman in a Battalion of an Armored Division for two years. He was a great model for all the 900 soldiers of that Battalion and a great tutor to the NCOs. I knew no finer man, no finer soldier, and none of his equal. I am proud to have served with him and am greatly grieved to read of his loss. My condolences to his family.”
