He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Thaete and Etta Thaete. He is survived by: his children, Eryca Thaete Caldwell (Tim Caldwell) and Gerald Thaete Jr. (JJ); his grandchildren, Jonathan, Kaitlynne Capp, Jaden Ballance, Laurae and Grant Thaete; and his siblings, Shirley Gray (Bill Gray), Daryl Thaete (Clarice) and Judy Dunne (John). He is also survived by his many nephews, and nieces.
