He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Taft and Wilma Taft (Weber); his children, Martin Taft (Soucky), James Taft (Amie) and Mary Ann; and his sisters, Carole VanErdewyk (Zeno) and Sonja Lipovac.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Pflepsen; his daughters, Karen Loomis (Ken) and Sara Taft Merkes; and his siblings, Marilyn Mechtenberg, Deanna Hall (Rod) and Dan Taft.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Marlatt Funeral Home & Crematory (713 Central Ave N, Kent, WA 98032). A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Church (25810 156th Ave SE, Covington, WA 98042). The military honors was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Tahoma National Cemetery (18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042).
