He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Vance and Janet Jensen Vance; his siblings, LaDell Vance and Ronda Wigington; and his pets, Butch and Runt.
He is survived by: his children, James Alvin and Shelley Elizabeth; his wife Patricia Marilyn; and his sister Sandy Brown. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
After a long battle with Alzheimer's disease, he passed peacefully in his sleep.
