He is survived by: his sister Phyllis Ely Farnsworth; his former wife Thelma Ely Swanson; his grandchildren, Tammy Cram Marshall (Jeff), Scott Cram (Kelsey), Peter Ely, Annalisa Ely and Kayla St; his former wife Merrildine Gilligan Ely; his children, Theresa Gilligan Motto (Brad), Kevin Gilligan (Janelle), David Gilligan, Brian Gilligan (Kim) and Rod Gilligan (Christina); and also, LaDawn Dodd Ely, June Ely Cram (Dale), Steven Ely (Cindy), John Ely (LaDawn) and Kate Ely. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
