He was predeceased by: his wife Betty (Vrieling); his parents, Edna Wellsfry and Walter Wellsfry; and his brothers, Wilson, Bob, Frank, Gene, Ward and Jack.
He is survived by: his children, Rebecca (Wall), Dean (Wellsfry) and Cheryl (Smith); his brother Ralph Wellsfry of Colorado; his children, Curtis (Amanda), Kellye (James) and Kathryn (Marcus); his great grandchildren, Lilly, Calvin, Natalie and Cecilia; and also Jeffrey.
The family has designated Gideon's International and Young Life for memorial contributions in Howard's memory.
