She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Walter Strickler and Helen Strickler (Hoke); her husband Robert E. Mertz; her son Robert Dana Mertz; her sister Virginia B. O'Connell; and her sons, David Mertz (Diane) of Kennewick, WA, Carl Mertz (Sandy) of Tryon, NC and Tyson Mertz (Doris) of Gilette, NJ. She was also cherished by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
