He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Carolynne Thompson of Tillsonburg; his sons, Jeff Thompson (Courtney Shantz) of Tillsonburg and Greg Thompson (Tessa) of Kenmore; his grandchildren, Lucas Shantz of Tillsonburg, Emily Shantz of Tillsonburg, Will Thompson of Kenmore and Alice Thompson of Kenmore; and his siblings, Jim Thompson (Sheila) of Seaforth, Betty Powley (Barry) of Chilliwack, Sharon Nesbitt (Brian) of Waterloo, Bob Thompson (Michele) of Stratford, Stephen Plunkett (Cindy) of Blyth, David Plunkett (Julie) of Blyth, Darryl Plunkett (Susan) of Auburn and Bill Thompson. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
