She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert "Froggy" Desautel and Myrtle Peone. She is survived by: her brother William "Billy" Desautel; her husband Joe VanSlyke; and her children, Brenda VanSlyke, Sandi Harris and Scott Harris. She is also survived by 5 granddaughters and 6 great-grandchildren.
