Vincent A Rosander Sr. Obituary
Vincent Arnold Rosander, Sr., age 83, a resident of LaPush, took his final breath on September 6, 2019, at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles from complications of pneumonia, heart failure and a collapsed lung. He was born on March 13, 1937 at the Taholah home of his parents, Clarence Austin Rosander, Sr. and Pearl Ruby Cultee Rosander.
He began his working career in Alaska on fishing and crab boats. He then served in the US Army from 1954 to 1957. After his discharge, he returned to the Peninsula where on March 1, 1968, he and Lorraine Judy Jackson were married in Port Angeles. The coupe was divorced in 1994.
From 1969 to 1978, he worked for the Boeing Company in Portland, Oregon. He returned to LaPush where he was the Director of Utilities for the Quileute Nation from 1979 to 1994. He then lived at Hoh River from 2004 until returning to LaPush in 2017.
He is survived by his three children, Vincent A. Rosander, Jr., Darrin Rosander (Nicole) and Lisa Rosander-Hatch (Rodney), all of LaPush; and three brothers, Ronald Rosander of Springfield, OR, Clarence Rosander of Portland and Paul Rosander, of Quinault. The extended family has five grandsons, Kyle Rosander, Vincent Jackson, Wrrin Rosander, Storm Rosander and Shadow Rosander, five granddaughters, Kelsey Rosander, Starlett Jackson, Katherine Jackson, JoAnne Jackson and Janice Jackson; and five great great grandchildren, Dominic Austin Rosander, Ramirez eli Ward, Bianca Renee Ward, Amiah Lynn Rosander and Amari Ella Rosander. In addition to his parents, a brother, Douglas Rosander died previously.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary.
