He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Cowden and Lorraine Cowden (Anderson). He is survived by: his wife Roberta; his children, Matthew Cowden (Cori), Aimee Richardson (Jake) and Janette Seigler (John); his grandchildren, Harlen, Nora, Megan, Gabriel, Nathan, Elijah, Aaron and Lilleah; and his sisters, Roberta Clark and Christine Nixon (Jim). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and cousins.
