He was predeceased by: his parents, Ingrid Alvestad of Gig Harbor, WA and Ben Alvestad; and his siblings, Karen Faker and John. He is survived by: his daughters, Jessica Alvestad (Jeffrey Bailey) and Monica Hilen (George) of Gig Harbor; his grandchildren, Kellan, Maiken and Brooks; and his brother Ken (Sue) of Palms Springs, CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and countless good friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances in David's honor to the National Park Foundation or Washington State Parks Foundation.
