Charles Chris Bolz

Charles “Chuck” Bolz was born on November 4, 1948 to Charles (Chuck) and Caroline (Swalboski) Bolz. Chuck grew up in the Milaca area of Minnesota where he was raised on the family farm. He learned to garden, hunt and fish as he grew up. He especially enjoyed hunting with his brothers-in-law and family friends.
Chuck was a man of faith. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Milaca.
Chuck attended Milaca schools and graduated in 1967 from Milaca High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 15, 1968 as a Gunner’s Mate and ordinance mechanic. Chuck went to Vietnam in December, 1969 and returned in December 1970 following his tour. He remained in the Navy until his honorable discharge February 14, 1972. During his 4 years of service he was awarded several medals, including a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After his separation from the military, Chuck went on to work in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and various other jobs throughout the years, including 1st Choice Housekeeping.
Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed “puttering” around the house working on various projects, and working on cars. In the 70’s and 80’s he bowled on several bowling leagues in the Bremerton area.
He married Donna (Beigh) Bolz on May 24, 1968. Together, they had three children. They later divorced in May, 2000.
On August 12, 2001 he married Carrie (Tyler) Bolz. Together they had one daughter.
Chuck is survived by his children, Tina (Ed) Thurston, James (Dawna) Bolz, Donald (Lisa) Bolz, and Christina (Nathan) Dunn. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Zach, Anthony, Mackenzie, Braiden, Abriana and Gavin, and one great-grandchild, Asher, his sister Ruth Oss and brother Steve Bolz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Chuck will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Caroline Bolz, his infant sister, Jean Bolz, his sister Norma Ovsak, his brothers-in-law John Oss, James Hatch, and Floyd Ovsak, as well as his ex-wife, Donna Bolz.
A celebration of life is scheduled for June 4, 2022 at 12:00 PM at his family home at 177 SW Verona Court, Port Orchard, WA.
