John Douglass Obituary
It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John Douglass (George, Washington), born in Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away, on December 22, 2018. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Lyman and Edna Ball Douglass; and his wife Margaret "Papoose" Pickering. He is survived by: his children, Carrie Bess Douglass (Fernando Opere) of Charlottesville and Philip (Megan) of Arlington; his great grandchildren, Ryder, Austen, Peter (Cheryl) of Falls Church, Hudson, Penelope, Ellie and Camila (Adam Shearer) of Charlottesville, Virginia; his children, Timothy Pickering Douglass (Judith Firestone) of Houston and Andrew Douglass (Kelly) of Kyle; his great grandchild Emma; his children, Benjamin Jay Douglass (Samantha) and Cathryn Ann (Cliff Archibald) of Houston; his grandson John (Stephanie); his great grandchild Theodore of Reston; his daughter Margaret (Lee Rutter) of Austin; and his significant other Clyde Drexler. He is also survived by his five grandsons at age 12 (or thereabouts) on an extensive foreign trip which he believed good for the education of boys and an excellent opportunity to bond between grandfather and grandson.
In lieu of flowers, John Jay wishes that donations be made in his name to the University of Nebraska Foundation for the John Jay Douglass scholarship or to the Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church.
