He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Battan and June Battan (Klein). He is survived by: his wife Janeen; his children, Kelley Bright (Kevin), Stephanie Seek (Rod), Bill Battan (Sheila) and Greg Battan (Denise); his siblings, Nancy Clark, Pam Ovendale and Clark Battan; his grandchildren, Emily, Cassidy, Brandon, Jacob, Kaleb and Willa; and his great grandchildren, Reagan, Lillian and Levi.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Skagit Community Band of which he was an avid follower, especially of his favorite member, Janeen.
