He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sturgill and Sarah Sturgill; and his siblings, Lester Harp, John Harp, Ray Harp, Betty Hamlin, Ann Peterson, Ada Picklesimer, Addie Baughman and Ruth Thompson.
He is survived by: his spouse Bernita Thomas; and his stepchildren, Jim Thomas and Connie Delray. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
