“I am deeply saddened by this news. John volunteered at my school in Camas, Washington. He’d come every Tuesday and play chess at lunch. Kids loved to try to beat him but he was a master! He always showed them what to do and helped them elevate their matches. He was such a huge part of the week and the students loved him. I’m very sorry.”
