He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Houghtaling and Charles Houghtaling; and his wife Ruth Dills. He is survived by: his children, Mary Rowland (David), Scott Houghtaling (Gretchen) and Kristi Houghtaling (David Pickens); his grandchildren, Ally, Jared, Amy and Zach; his great grandchildren, Hazel, Willow and Adeline; and his siblings, Charles Houghtaling (Bud) and Judy Faurot (Randy).
