He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Eugene Mayer and Faye Evelyn Mayer; and his sister Delores Silva. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Laura Mayer (Jim Perdue) of Moses Lake, WA, Angie Mayer of Ephrata and Bobby Mayer (Katie) of Ephrata; his siblings, Richard Mayer (Bev), Raymond Mayer (Loretta) of Ephrata and Linda Field; his brother-in-law Gary Klepec (Pat) of Okanogan, WA; and his grandchildren, Connor, Abbey, Wyatt, Josephine and August. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
