He was predeceased by: his parents, William Coutts and Carmen Coutts (Jones); and his brothers, Floyd Coutts (Roy) and James Coutts (Jim). He is survived by: his brother Roy; his significant other Bonnie; his children, Susan Coutts-Kooreny (Dave), Thomas Coutts and Edward Coutts; his grandchildren, Patricia Emmert (Thomas), Chris Bunker (Tanna) and Shannon Coutts; and his great grandchildren, Anna Davio, Stevie Bunker and Lyla Bunker.
