He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Joseph Menzel, Sr. and Josephine Elizabeth Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Menzel; and his sons, Doug Menzel (Karen) of Aberdeen and Tim Menzel (Debra) of McCleary. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
