He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kukes and Johanna Kukes (Hofferber); and his siblings, Lillian Morrison, Harry, Richard and Ken Kukes.

He is survived by: his former wife Mary Louise Klocke; his son John; his spouse Leslie Larsen; his children, Jon Kukes of Alaska, Terry Kukes (Debbie), Joanna Fischer (Randy), Jak Kukes (Laura) and Kim Funston (Matt); and his sister Jane Eastham of Ellensburg. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
