She was predeceased by: her parents, William McClayton Freeman and Bertha Florence Waits Freeman. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Jenna and Dakota; her children, George Sheffield of Gray, GA, Monet Sheffield of Stone Mountain, GA and Melissa Sheffield of Seattle, WA; her stepdaughter Susan Roberts of Lyle, WA.; and her siblings, Samuel Freeman (Kathryn), Loy Freeman and Jacquelyn Findley (Jimmy). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to any of Julia's three favorite charities: The Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or The American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
