He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Shimek and Otto Shimek; his grandparents, Leo and Rena; and his brother Richard Shimek.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Shimek; his children, Barbara (Mike Erickson), Brad (Heather), San Marcos and Brian of Albuquerque, NM; his granddaughters, Emma and Ava; and his brother Robert Shimek. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
